One good practice about round tables is not to run it sequentially from left to right or right to left but randomly. The people waiting for their turn are so much concentrated on what they are going to say that they forget listening to the others.
Having been through many quality process training sessions, I would add one thing that I believe stimulates the creativity, but more importantly alleviates the fear to speak up. When some gives you an "idea" do not discuss the idea, they do not explain the idea at that point. Idea - write on the board - go to the next person. It's keeps aggressive people from being judgmental and keeps the less aggressive speaking up without fear. More detailed discussion of items can come later.
