Every September, the small town of Baden, Switzerland becomes home to one of the world’s most prominent animation festivals. The largest animation festival in Switzerland, Fantoche is a cultural event that brings together an international bevy of professional filmmakers, animation enthusiasts, and students.

For the first time, TED-Ed will showcase an entire program in an animation festival this September. It includes 13 animated lessons that TED-Ed produced in collaboration with educators and animators from all over the world since early 2012. Some of our most successful Lessons to date, such as How simple ideas lead to scientific discoveries by Adam Savage will be featured.

The final selection was made in collaboration with Annette Schindler, the Festival Director, to meet the audiences’ interests:

“Fantoche is proud to include a full program of TED-Ed Lessons in our Festival program – the first time to screen such a program on the big screen! I’m curious to discover the cinematic qualities of these animations, and very happy to have Biljana Labovic with us to comment not only the films but also the flip teaching method. Fantoche collaborates with students and teachers from local schools and is thrilled to be able to present to them these inspiring lessons.”
